Partners Urgent Care was featured July 6th in the Boston Business Journal for its increasing expansion into the Boston market. This comes two weeks after opening its new Boston Common facility at City Place in downtown Boston.
Dr. Gregg Meyer, chief clinical officer at Partners HealthCare spoke about the decision to further grow its urgent care presence, “The reasons to go into urgent care is focusing in on our patients. Our patients clearly need outlets for lower-cost, convenient care, which meets a patient need.”
As of last year, there were 90 retail clinics in Massachusetts compared with only six in 2008. Patients increasingly are demanding more options in health care aside from emergency departments and primary care facilities. Partners Urgent Care meets this need with clean, modern facilities open 9am-9pm every day, including weekends and holidays. Additionally, a Partners Urgent Care visit typically lasts under an hour and costs about a tenth of what an ER visit does.
By the end of 2017, Partners Urgent Care will have ten locations across the greater Boston-area to better serve the needs of patients. The four additional sites will deliver the same trusted Partners care to the Medford, Porter Square, Burlington and Woburn communities.
Partners Urgent Care treats a wide range of illnesses and injuries from coughs and colds to cuts and broken bones for adults and children over 12 months. All centers offer unique amenities including Wi-Fi and snacks in addition to children’s activities and in-room televisions. Walk-ins are welcome and most major insurance is accepted.
